Too long we've been apart
I've been reading through the website of the church I'll be part of in Santiago, and I noticed a nice expression. I don't know exactly how the word should be translated in English, but the literal translation reads: "Each Sunday at 11 Ñuñoa church reunites to praise God as a people...". They don't meet, they reunite - how lovely and apropos is that!

In French the word for gathering is 'reunion'.
Perhaps it's a lovely linguistic thing, rather than a deliberate church thing? Either way, it is nice to reflect on!
It is nice, but a quick scan of dictionaries suggests the word "reúne" is usually translated simply as "gather", "bring together", "assemble", "collect", "meet", or "congregate."
So that the English "people always congregate at my house" becomes in Spanish "la gente siempre se reúne en mi casa."
Oh. Now where's the fun?
